Mayor Carman Kidd

Moved to New Liskeard in 1980 and operated a family business for 30 years
Married Trudy Jibb (Reg. Nurse) in 1974, and raised 3 children, Angela, an occupation therapist, Trevor, a flight paramedic, currently attending university towards his doctorate, and Mike who has taken over the family business. We also have 6 grandchildren that we spend much of our time with.
My municipal experience includes being a Dymond Township Councillor from 1990 until 1994, and Reeve from 1994 to 1997. I also chair the City's Committee of Adjustment and also the Agriculture, Rural Affairs and Natural Resources Committee.
My community involvement includes numerous agricultural organizations in various positions, board member and past chair of South Temiskaming Community Futures Development Corporporation and being the Chairman of the 2009 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo Organizing Committee.

Councillor Bob Hobbs

Councillor for the former Town of New Liskeard from 1998 through 2003.
I was born and raised on a farm in Dymond Township. Most of my career was spent in sales and service except for a few years as owner/operator of P & H Hog Farms (a 770 head hog operation). I then formed R.G.Hobbs Marketing (equipment & chemical sales and service, rentals, U-Haul Dealer) until my retirement in 2009.
I am presently serving my third term as Councillor for the City of Temiskaming Shores.
I served on a number of committees, those being DTSSAB, Emergency Services, Public Works, Accessibility Committee, Senior Housing Board, and Library Board.
I am a member of the New Liskeard Lions Club and Past District Governor.
On a personal note, I have two daughters and four grandchildren.

Councillor Doug Jelly

I was born and raised in this area.
I attended elementary and secondary schools in New Liskeard.
I graduated with honors from Seneca College-Law Enforcement and Crime Detection (1970-1972).
I worked as a Private Investigator in the Sudbury area (1972-1973).
On July 16,1973, I joined the New Liskeard Police Service as a 4th Class Constable and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1992 and as Chief of Police in June1995. I retired in September 2007 as Chief of Police of the Temiskaming Shores Police Service.
I was a member of various law enforcement related committees during my career .
I am a Life member of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.
I was the Co-chair of security for 2009 International Plowing Match.
I am an active committee member on the Phippen Biker Reunion Committee.
I enjoy carpentry, motorcycling, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting.
I am bilingual (English and French).

Councillor Mike McArthur

I have spent most of my life involved in the public eye with stops in the broadcasting business with CKGB in Timmins and CJTT located in the former Town of New Likeard, 10 years with the LCBO, some 14 years as property manager at the local Timiskaming Square and presently a sales representative with the Temiskaming Speaker, a 100 year old weekly newspaper, and also in the promotion field with advertising products and the Weekender, a free newspaper.
I have volunteered to help many organizations over the past 40 years in the area and having come from Toronto U am now an official Northerner and glad of it!
I continue to help others as a second term elected Councillor!
My mother of 87 years, along with my only sister and her family, live in the Greater Toronto Area and I sure enjoy visiting with them when the chance arises.
I live with my best friend and loyal companion Judy.
I am proud to help people from all walks of life!

Councillor Jamie Morrow

I have lived in the Temiskaming area for over 30 years and in Haileybury/New Liskeard for approximately the past 10 years.
I am married with two children, ages 2 and 4.
I have been an employee with Miller Paving Northern for the past seven years.
I was the Finance Manager for DTSSAB for over two years before going to Miller Paving.
I have a varied financial/managerial background including municipal, mining, forestry, manufacturing and construction.
I volunteered seven years on the Cobalt Coleman Fire Department .
I coached minor hockey and softball.
I attended Northern College for Business Administration - Accounting.
I ran for Council to use my financial experience to assist with the City's budget.

Councillor Brian Thornton

I grew up in Carleton Place in the Ottawa Valley. I attended Ottawa Teachers' College and later received my B.A. and M.Ed. from Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. I accepted my first teaching assignment at the Haileybury Public School in 1971 and taught at a number of schools in the area during my career. I also spent a year in Torino, Italy, in 1990-91 with my family where I taught English to adults. I spent my last few years in administration as a vice-principal.
I married the former Rosa Grieco in 1974 and I am presently a widower. I am the father of three grown sons and proud grandfather to five grandsons. All three of my sons were educated at local schools and are presently teaching in Trenton, Toronto, and New Liskeard.
I served almost four years on the former Town of Haileybury Council. I was appointed for my first term and I was elected for my second. I chose to focus on family and teaching rather than run for a third term on council. This is mys first term on the City of Temiskaming Shores Council.

Councillor Danny Whalen

I was born and raised in the area.
I am married to Suzanne with two daughters Trina and Tracey. We also have two grand daughters Mya and Lily to whom we devote much of our time.
During my sixteen years of municipal experience as both a member of Council and Head of Council, I participated on various boards of Council.
I am a member of the Star Touring and Riding Chapter 5106 and the current Treasurer.
