Community Consultation
Public involvement is an integral part of the Environmental Assessment (EA) process and key to the success of the New Waste Management Capacity Project. As such, the public and Aboriginal people will be encouraged to participate through the development of the draft Terms of Reference (ToR) and in the EA Report.
The approach to be followed aims at a two-way communication between the City and interested parties. All involvement activities will be documented and issued as part of the ToR document and the EA report. Details on the various proposed activities and opportunities for involvement are presented in the draft ToR.
Through involvement in the preparation and review of the ToR, interested parties have an early opportunity to be involved in the EA process and to obtain information about the Project proposal that may affect them. It also allows the community to decide early in the planning process about the level of their concern and their need for continued participation in the process. Specific opportunities for involvement include:
Public Meetings
