Registering your dog or identifying your cat

Be sure that your pet is wearing a current dog or cat tag. It is mandatory.  Registering and obtaining a tag is one of the best investments you can make to protect your pet.

Tags can be obtained by contacting Temiskaming Animal Care & Control (TACC) at 705-672-3985 or at the following locations:

  • Pet Value, at Timiskaming Square, 88330 Highway 65 East
  • Temiskaming Shores Library, Haileybury Branch, 554 Lakeshore Road South
  • Temiskaming Shores Library, New Liskeard Branch, 50 Whitewood Avenue

Claiming your pet

TACC keeps all strays for a minimum of three days as part of the claim period. Three days are required under provincial regulation. These three days allow time for the owner to claim their pet at the shelter.

It is important to contact TACC at 705-672-3985 during this period to see if your pet has been sheltered at their facility.

Note: Those owners of animals impounded without a current tag will be required to purchase a current tag at double the rate as a condition of release.
