Public Works
The Public Works Department for the City is organized into two (2) internal departments: Operations, and Administration / Environmental Services.
Public Works Operations Division is responsible for the maintenance and operations of the municipal road system, water distribution systems, sanitary collection systems and the storm water management system.
The Administration / Environmental Services Division is responsible for oversight of the treatment of water and wastewater by the municipality's operating authority, the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA). This Division is also responsible for solid waste management and the department's annual capital projects.

The Director of Public Works is Mr. Doug Walsh with his office located at City Hall (325 Farr Dr., Haileybury). The Manager of Physical Asseets is Mr. Dan Harvey with his office located at City Hall. The Manager of Environmental Services is Mr. David Treen with his office located at City Hall. The Transportation Services Superintendent is Mr. Jamie Sheppard with his office located at the Public Works Operations Division (200 Lakeshore Rd N., New Liskeard). The Environmental Services Superintendent is Mr. Bob Beaudion with his office located at the Public Works Operations Division.

The Public Works Operations normal hours of operations is Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Normal hours of operations are modified in the winter season to permit staff to be available 16 hours including weekends.
The Public Works Operations contact phone number is 1-705-647-6220 and is answered during normal hours of operation and becomes the emergency number during off hours by an auto attendant. The auto attendant provides an alternative number to call depending on the nature of the emergency.
