National Transit Driver Appreciation Week

March 18-24, 2024

Be it resolved that the Council for the City of Temiskaming Shores hereby proclaims in the City of Temiskaming Shores March 18 to 22, 2024 as: National Transit Driver Appreciation Week.

Temiskaming Shores offers a public transit system. We also have access to motor coach via Ontario Northland. There are also privately owned taxi and limo services available to our communities.

Route Map - Regular 

The Temiskaming Transit runs an hourly service Sunday to Saturday (7 days/week) leaving Cobalt at 6:00am and ending at the corner of Main Street and Rorke Avenue at 11:15pm.

Route Map - Special Weather 

Due to winter storms, Temiskaming Transit may have to switch to the Significant Weather Event Route.

A Winter Event is a weather condition affecting roads such as snowfall, wind blown snow, freezing rain, front, black ice, etc. to which a winter event response is required.

Reading the Map

Orange indicates Northbound Routes.

Blue indicates Southbound Routes.

Yellow circles indicate approximate bus stops and stop numbers, which correspond to the listed stop locations. 

Buses will only stop at the "Assigned Bus Stops" if:

  • Someone is standing.
  • Someone indicates they want to get off at these stops.

The "Flag" method can ONLY be used on Lakeshore Rd S between the former Town of Haileybury and the former Town of New Liskeard to inform the bus driver that you wish to get on or get off. He or she will stop the bus where it is safe and where traffic permits.

Temiskaming Transit Passes and Fares effective January 1, 2024.

Why
The 2024 Transit Fares are to ensure that Temiskaming Transit is able to efficiently maintain the current level of service being provided to transit users. 

  • The last change in price to Monthly Passes was January 1, 2018.
  • The last change in price to Individual Transit Fares was January 1, 2022.

2024 Transit Fares 

Media Release - June 28, 2023

Temiskaming Transit has now fully transitioned to Voyago Transit as the service provider. Please note, the current posted schedule will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

This schedule is the most feasible and achievable plan for Transit Operations, the Transit Committee and largely for the patrons using the system.

Please review the schedule and continue to check the website or socials for any customer advisories and notices.

The current schedule and route is available onboard transit buses, posted in shelters and other locations such as the Pool Fitness Centre, Library and Pinky’s Variety in Cobalt.
