Arts & Culture
Temiskaming Shores is blessed with many arts and culture opportunities. The Temiskaming Art Gallery is hosted within the newly constructed City Hall and hosts both national and local artists, with eight display changes annually.
The community has two museums that celebrate the history of the area as well as several others in surrounding communities covering topics such as the Great Fire of 1922 and the history of agriculture, forestry and mining in the area.
There is an annual music festival in the community as well as a community choir and several local bands and music teaching programs.
Live theatre is also alive and well in the community. In partnership with the Cobalt Classic Theatre, the Temiskaming Live Theatre group puts on local live theatre performances annually. The theatre also hosts many different live theatre and musical performances on a regular basis.
Community festivals are common place in Temiskaming Shores with area groups and organizations running various activities and events almost every weekend. There is never a lack of things to do.
Temiskaming Shores along with partners around Lake Temiskaming is putting together a cultural tour of the region around the lake. The proposal will package all that there is to do on the circle route around the lake including the Francophone, Anglophone and First Nations cultures native to the area.
