  • Snowmobiling:The local volunteer OFSC club is the Tri Town Sno Travellers (www.ttst.ca) The club maintains the trail system from Temagami to Earlton.  Trail conditions can be found on their website.
  • Cross Country Skiing: The Temiskaming Nordic Ski Club (www.temiskamingnordic.ca) has several loops throughout beautiful forested areas of Coleman township.  They have both track set and skate skiing trails as well as a log chalet to warm up and arrange for ski rentals if needed.
  • Downhill Skiing: The Tri Town Ski & Snowboard Village (www.tritownskivillage.ca) is the area’s only alpine ski hill.  It has runs to cater to all ability levels of skiers and also now has a tubing hill for those who prefer that option.  The hill has a training lift for beginners and a T-Bar lift up the slope.  The club also has rentals and a chalet available for warming up and washrooms.
  • Snowshoeing: There are many walking trails that become snowshoe trails during winter months.  Rentals are available at the Waterfront Pool & Fitness Centre as well as the public library branches.  In addition, the Tri Town Ski & Snowboard Village also has trails and snowshoes available for use.

  • Haunted Hustle: STATO organizes this fun run or walk along the community's multi use trail system each year at the end of October.  Visit the Haunted Hustle website for further details.
  • Night of Lights: November Celebration to turn on the Christmas Lights in Haileybury. Contact the Haileybury Business Group for more information - haileybury.walkers@hotmail.com
  • Festival of Lights: November Celebration to turn on the Christmas Lights in New Liskeard. Contact the New Liskeard Business Improvement Association for more information - bianewliskeard@gmail.com
  • Temiskaming Shores Sailing School: a Not-for-profit corporation in partnership with the City of Temiskaming Shores.  Our mandate is to provide affordable access to sailing and sailing instruction for the youth of our region.  We are recognized by the Ontario Sailing Association to provide sailing certification.  We hope to bring this exciting, environmentally friendly sport to as many as possible. 
  • The Ghost of the Hardy Boys Short Story Writing Contest: This annual Contest, which honours Leslie McFarlane, the original author of the famous Hardy Boys' books, is open to young people between the ages of 8 to 19 years living in the geographic area from Kirkland Lake to Temagami.
  • Cars & Coffee - a local group of car and truck enthusiasts gather at the Haileybury Marina
