When you consider how important farming is to the economy today, you can realize why farming in Temiskaming has progressed to 21st century techniques.

Dymond farms are some of the most efficient and well managed in the world. With the establishment (in 1922) of the New Liskeard Agricultural Research Station (NLARS), our farming techniques are showcased around the world.

Farming in South Timiskaming has reached a level of expertise that is second to none across the province.

Robotic farming techniques have allowed for the improvement in not only the condition of livestock, but the ability for farmers to increase overall yield.

There are 547 farms totaling 1,017,293 acres in Temiskaming (1991)

  • 74 Cash Crops

  • 80 Mixed Farms

Total Farm Capital is $161,600,000.00

 

Dairy Producers in 1995 totaled 88, with a total production of 31,045,000 this year. This equates itself with Gross Milk Sales of $17,254,481.00.
