City Manager - City of Temiskaming Shores

The City of Temiskaming Shores serves as an economic and service hub in Northeastern Ontario. Our diverse community has developed into a regional centre for the surrounding municipalities, including nearby communities in western Quebec (only 20kms away). Temiskaming Shores is centrally located between North Bay, Sudbury, Timmins and Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.

Under the direction of Council, the City Manager acts as a corporate coordinator in accordance with the decisions and policies adopted by Council. Implements and administers the objectives, policies and programs approved by Council. Directs the overall management, planning and control of all corporate operations and acts as Council’s primary advisor.

The City Manager will work with and lead a dynamic senior management team and provide leadership by overseeing the day-to-day affairs of the Municipality.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • University degree in Public Administration or equivalent.
  • AMCTO Municipal Administration and/or Municipal Management Diploma or other relevant professional designation preferred.
  • Seven years of municipal management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of municipal administration, including finance, legislative services, human resources and legal affairs.
  • General knowledge of operational areas, including public works, development and planning, parks and recreations, protective services and corporate services.
  • Strong working knowledge of municipal legislation, statutes and regulations.
  • Managerial and leadership skills to plan, direct and supervise staff.
  • Highly developed collaboration, analytical and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, attention to detail and strong organization, writing and presentation skills with a commitment to public service excellence.

Compensation: $134,850 - $150,950 (35 hours per week, plus a comprehensive benefits package)
