With the District of Timiskaming now in the Red “Control” zone of the Province’s reopening framework we have some recreation service updates to announce.

City arenas have been closed for the season as of today.  Many thanks to our local user groups who persevered throughout the 2020-2021 season to allow some semblance of normal to take place this past winter.  All future bookings have been canceled and full refunds will be provided.

The Pool and Fitness Centre remains open.  In the Red Control zone our fitness centre is limited to a capacity of 10 people.  As such, we have implemented 1 hour workout blocks throughout the day.  Please continue to pre-register your time in the facility but know that you will be required to leave when your hour block is up.

The Pool will also remain open.  We are able to continue to offer various swim times throughout the day at the same limited capacities as we were operating under previously.  Aquafitness classes will now be limited to 10 people per class.  Aquatic leadership courses will continue as planned as they were already capped at 10 participants.  Swimming lessons scheduled to begin the week of April 5th will now begin the week of April 19th.  All participants will be contacted by staff to let them know of the change.

As per our Municipal Hall Reopening Plan, no public bookings of municipal halls will be accepted while in the Red Control zone.  All public bookings for the next two weeks have been canceled and no new bookings will be accepted for April at this time.

Age Friendly and Healthy Kids programming will continue while following the new limited capacities.

Please continue to fill out the City’s COVID-19 contact tracing and screening form whenever you enter a city facility.
