The City of Temiskaming Shores is currently seeking a motivated, team-oriented professional to join our dynamic team as a Tourism Coordinator within the Community Development Department.

Role and Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with diverse tourism-based businesses.
• Network and cultivate partnerships with members of the public, community groups, City staff and others.
• Must attend meetings, events, and communicate with partners as required.
• Assist in preparing and executing tourism marketing plans and other community-led initiatives.
• Proactively research opportunities and develop relevant programs and policies.
• Successfully complete funding applications
• Assist with the administration of the Municipal Transient Accommodation Tax program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Post secondary education or certification in a related field;
• 2 years of related experience within tourism, economic development, or community event planning.
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Demonstrate thorough research and development skills
• Experience collaborating and working with multiple partners;
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
