Transit Investment Update

Province Announces $4.9 Million Investment in Transit for Temiskaming Shores

A $4,922,243 investment through the Ontario Transit Investment Fund will support the next generation of transit and transportation services in Temiskaming Shores and the surrounding region.

Planned work includes improved service frequency, new regional connections, on-demand technology, updated rider information, additional payment and pass options, and improved transfer opportunities.

To accommodate the exercise, Sunnyside Road between Lakeshore Road and Phippens Road in Temiskaming Shores will be temporarily closed between 8:00AM and 1:00PM. Members of the public may hear sirens and see emergency lights and simulated smoke as part of the exercise. There is no threat to public safety.

Pour permettre la tenue de cet exercice, la route Sunnyside, entre la route Lakeshore et la route Phippens, à Temiskaming Shores, sera fermée temporairement, soit de 8 h à 13 h. Dans le cadre de cet exercice, les membres du public pourraient entendre des sirènes, en plus de voir des gyrophares et de la fumée simulée. Il n’y a aucune menace pour la sécurité publique.

Zoning By-law Amendment Applications and Public Hearing

A statutory public hearing for zoning amendment applications ZBA-2026-003 and ZBA-2026-004 will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.

The applications propose rezoning properties at 203 Roland Road and Plan M79NB Lot 269 to 276 PCL 9237 SST to Low Density Residential (R2). Additional information is available through the Community Development Department.

Notice of Public Meeting

Potential Disposition of Municipal Land at Barr Avenue

Council is considering the disposition of approximately 6–8 acres of municipal land for the purpose of developing a future 128-bed long-term care home.

The public meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in Council Chambers at 325 Farr Drive. Written comments and registrations to speak must be received by 12:00 noon that day.

Fire Ban Update

Municipal Fire Ban Lifted

The municipal fire ban is no longer in effect in the City of Temiskaming Shores.

Open-air fires are now permitted and burning permits are now available.
