ENG. Services - Bridge Inspections

Objective

This Request for Proposals (RFP) is an invitation to submit proposals for the provision of professional engineering services to document the City’s Biennial Structure Inspections of bridges and large diameter culverts under the jurisdiction of the municipality and the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual. In addition to the OSIM inspections, the City requires the Consultant to complete a focused Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, Schedule B level review for the Firstbrooke Line Bridge.

It is the intent of the City of Temiskaming Shores to receive information for evaluating and prioritizing the City’s goal of continuing a long-term capital budget program for good maintenance of bridge and culvert systems.

Background

Located at the head of Lake Temiskaming, Temiskaming Shores is located in North-eastern Ontario, near the Quebec border. Temiskaming Shores has a population of approximately 9,634, according to the 2021 census. The City of Temiskaming Shores is governed by a seven-member Council comprised of 6 Councillors and 1 Mayor.  The City also has various Committees of Council, with members appointed by Council.

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with By-law No. 2015-160, that Council of the City of Temiskaming Shores will consider the potential disposition of municipally owned land located on Cobalt Avenue, described as Part of the North Half of Lot 13, Concession 2, Township of Bucke; Parcel 7918 SST (approximately 10.03 acres). Final legal description to be confirmed by reference plan.

Dawson Point Road & Peter’s Road Rehabilitation

Objective

This Request for Tender (RFT) is an invitation to qualified Contractors for the provision of construction services to supply all labour, equipment, materials, and supervision necessary to complete roadway rehabilitation works on Dawson Point Road and Peter’s Road in the City of Temiskaming Shores, as shown on the Contract Drawings and in accordance with the Specifications contained herein..

Background

Dawson Point Road and Peter’s Road are important local transportation corridors within the City of Temiskaming Shores. The rehabilitation work is intended to improve roadway condition, drainage, safety, and long-term serviceability while accommodating active transportation improvements and associated municipal infrastructure upgrades.

Weather Advisory: A wintry mix is expected tonight through Friday, with rainfall of 15–25 mm, snowfall near 5 cm, and reduced visibility in heavy snow. Rain will transition to snow Friday afternoon, with icy and slippery conditions possible as temperatures fall below freezing. Localized water pooling or flash flooding may occur in areas with poor drainage.

Golf Course Rd. Bridge Rehab

Objective

This Request for Tender (RFT) is an invitation to qualified Contractors for the provision of construction services to source, supply, install, construct, or otherwise furnish all material, labour, and equipment to complete the rehabilitation of Golf Course Road Bridge (Structure No. 06) on Golf Course Road in the City of Temiskaming Shores, ON, as shown on the Contract Drawings and as per the Specifications contained herein.

Hours of Work | 40 hours per week

Compensation | $28.97 to $32.44 per hour (comprehensive benefits and OMERS pension plan offered)
