    Supply and Delivery, Conventional Transit Bus

    Objective

    The objective of this Request for Proposals is to procure one (1) new, either 30-foot, 32-foot, or 35-foot, low-floor, fully AODA-compliant transit bus for use in municipal public transit service. The vehicle shall be equipped with kneeling capability and be configured to support current and future transit technologies, including onboard cameras, GPS system and fare collection systems, in order to meet operational, accessibility, safety, and service reliability requirements.

Temiskaming Shores has a population of approximately 9,634, based on the 2021 Census. The City is governed by a seven-member Council comprised of one Mayor and six Councilors and is supported by various Committees of Council appointed by Council.


    The municipal public transit system was established in 1976 and currently provides service within the City of Temiskaming Shores and the Town of Cobalt. The system covers an area of approximately 182 square kilometres and serves a combined population of approximately 10,000 residents. The purpose of the service is to provide safe, reliable, and accessible transportation between the two municipalities in an efficient and effective manner.


    The existing transit fleet consists of six vehicles, including three full-size conventional transit buses used for primary fixed-route service and three smaller 8-metre shuttle-style buses used to support lower-demand routes and operational flexibility. Fleet renewal and modernization are required to maintain service reliability, meet accessibility standards, and support evolving operational and technology needs.

    The City of Temiskaming Shores is seeking to enhance the two ball diamonds within Dymond Sports Park to support local athletes. This project includes the replacement of the backstop at Isaac Walker-Dupont Memorial Ballfield and the replacement of the chain link mesh at Dymond A. These upgrades aim to improve safety, functionality, and overall user experience for athletes, spectators, and park visitors.

    The scope of work involves the supply, installation, and removal of chain link fencing and backstops to meet modern standards for baseball facilities. The project includes a variety of tasks such as precise site preparation, underground locates, cleanup, and landscaping to ensure high-quality installations that blend seamlessly with existing park environments.

    The project aligns with the City’s commitment to fostering active lifestyles and providing well-maintained recreational facilities for residents and visitors. The successful bidder will ensure all work is completed to the specifications outlined in the RFQ by June 26, 2026.

    Objective

    This Request for Proposals (RFP) is an invitation to submit proposals for the provision of professional engineering services to document the City’s Biennial Structure Inspections of bridges and large diameter culverts under the jurisdiction of the municipality and the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual. In addition to the OSIM inspections, the City requires the Consultant to complete a focused Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, Schedule B level review for the Firstbrooke Line Bridge.

    It is the intent of the City of Temiskaming Shores to receive information for evaluating and prioritizing the City’s goal of continuing a long-term capital budget program for good maintenance of bridge and culvert systems.
