Notice of Nomination for Office

The City of Temiskaming Shores is advising municipal electors that nominations are being accepted for the 2026 Municipal Election.

Offices Open for Nomination

Nomination Period

Nomination forms must be made on the prescribed form available at the Municipal Office.

Forms must be filed, either in person or by an agent, with the Returning Officer during normal office hours between the first business day of May in 2026 and Thursday, August 20, 2026.

On Nomination Day, Friday, August 21, 2026, nomination forms must be filed between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Nomination Requirements

Candidates for municipal council must submit original endorsement signatures from 25 people who are eligible to vote in the municipality, using the prescribed form available at the Municipal Office.

The required filing fee is $200.00 for the Head of Council and $100.00 for all other offices.

Payments may be made by cash, debit/credit, cheque, or money order payable to the City of Temiskaming Shores, and must accompany the signed forms.

If there is an insufficient number of certified candidates to fill the positions available, nominations for the vacant positions only will reopen between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
