Notice of Nomination for Office - School Board Trustees

The City of Temiskaming Shores is advising the public that nominations may be filed for School Board Trustee offices for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections.

Election Date and Term of Office

Municipal and School Board Elections will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026.

The term of office will be from November 15, 2026 to November 14, 2030.

Nomination Period

As of Monday, May 1, 2026, nominations may be filed in person, or by agent, during regular business hours, by appointment only, with the Returning Officer of the appropriate municipality for School Board Elections.

Nomination papers must be filed during normal office hours between the first business day of May in 2026 and Thursday, August 20, 2026.

On Nomination Day, Friday, August 21, 2026, nomination papers must be filed between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Nomination Requirements

Nomination papers must be submitted on the prescribed form, be signed by the candidate, and be accompanied by the prescribed $100 nomination filing fee.

Payment can be made by cash, debit/credit (if available), cheque, money order, or by an electronic method of payment specified by the Municipal Clerk, and must accompany the signed form.

Nomination papers must be filed before a candidate can accept contributions or spend money for their campaign.

If there is an insufficient number of certified candidates to fill the positions available, nominations will be reopened for vacant positions only between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
