The City of Temiskaming Shores is currently seeking a motivated, team-oriented, and skilled individual to join our team as an Equipment Operator within the Public Works department.

Responsibilities / What the Role Involves
  • Safely operate various types of municipal equipment.
  • Perform winter road maintenance tasks such as plowing, sanding, and salting when needed.
  • Load and unload trucks using appropriate mechanisms to safely perform tasks.
  • Perform routine maintenance and assist with seasonal preparation on relevant equipment as required.
  • Accurately maintain daily equipment usage records.
  • Maintain adequate cleanliness of equipment.
  • Safely perform general labour tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to all housekeeping procedures and report any suspected issues with equipment.
  • Understand, support, and adhere to all Municipal safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all Ministry of Transportation regulations.
Qualifications / What We’re Looking For
  • Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess a valid Province of Ontario Class “DZ” driver’s licence with a proven acceptable driving record.
  • Must be willing to be trained to obtain Water / Wastewater Certifications.
Compensation and Benefits

This full-time permanent position offers a wage range of $25.88 – $28.96 per hour.

The successful candidate will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package and the OMERS pension plan.
