Summary of the Role

The Marina Operator is responsible for a wide range of operational, customer service, maintenance, and safety-related duties to help ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the City’s marina facilities. This position also supports business needs, fuel dock operations, general upkeep, and the supervision of summer student staff.

Responsibilities / What the Role Involves

• Direct responsibility for marina operations, including maintenance, boater and public correspondence, customer service, business needs, health and safety adherence, fuel dock operations, grounds maintenance, and building cleanliness.
• Oversee and direct the work of summer student employees in the performance of their duties.
• Assign boat slips based on availability and specific boat needs.
• Assist with the proper and safe docking of customer boats.
• Provide excellent customer service while safely fueling boats.
• Accurately collect and process customer payments.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and provide customers with receipts.
• Facilitate a positive, helpful, and friendly environment for all patrons utilizing the marina facility.
• Perform general dock maintenance as required.

Qualifications / What We’re Looking For

• Successfully completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of customer service experience.
• Experience in marina operations would be considered an asset.
• Valid “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence with an acceptable driving record.

Compensation

This contract position offers a salary of $69,814 per year ($33.56/hr) and is scheduled for 40 hours per week from May to October.
