The City of Temiskaming Shores is currently seeking applications for a Seasonal All-Age Friendly Programmer within the Recreation Department.
The City of Temiskaming Shores is inviting qualified student applicants to apply for a full-time seasonal contract position as All-Age Friendly Programmer. This four-month contract runs from May 2026 to August 2026 and supports inclusive, high-quality recreational and social programming for older adults and the broader community.

About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent of Community Programs and working in collaboration with the Age Friendly Coordinator, this position helps expand and diversify recreational and social opportunities that address the needs of older adults, while also supporting all-age friendly initiatives that encourage community-wide participation. The role also contributes to broader departmental goals related to accessibility, inclusion, and active, healthy living.
Responsibilities / What the Role Involves
- Assist in planning and implementing inclusive, high-quality programs for older adults.
- Help expand recreational and social opportunities within the community.
- Support all-age friendly initiatives that foster broad community engagement.
- Work collaboratively to promote accessibility, inclusion, and healthy active living for residents.
- Contribute to the Recreation Department’s community programming objectives during the contract term.
Qualifications / What We’re Looking For
- Enrolled in a post-secondary program in recreation/leisure services, or a related discipline, or equivalent.
- Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation programs will be considered an asset.
- Valid Province of Ontario Class G licence.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Compensation
The City offers a competitive salary of $20.00 per hour, with up to 35 hours of work per week throughout the contract term.
