The City of Temiskaming Shores is currently seeking a motivated and qualified individual to join our team as a Seasonal Sustainability Coordinator within the Community Development department. This student opportunity will support climate, sustainability, and environmental stewardship initiatives from May 2026 to August 2026.

Responsibilities / What the Role Involves
  • Assist with Mandatory Broader Public Sector (BPS) reporting to the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
  • Support monthly energy reporting.
  • Assist with yearly energy forecasting and utility audits.
  • Assist with environmental stewardship programs in conjunction with OBVT and the Director of Environmental Services.
  • Assist in planning and implementing initiatives that align with inter-departmental strategic environmental priorities.
Qualifications / What We’re Looking For
  • Enrolled in and returning to a post-secondary program (College or University) in Environmental Studies, Engineering, Climate Change, or a related discipline.
  • Established skills in analytical report writing, policy planning, and program implementation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Valid Province of Ontario Class G licence.
Compensation and Benefits

This student opportunity offers a wage of $20.00 per hour for up to 35 hours per week over the 4 month contract term.
