The City of Temiskaming Shores is currently seeking a motivated, team-oriented, and skilled individual to join our team as an Equipment Operator within the Public Works department.

Position: Full-time Permanent
Wage: $25.88 – $28.96 per hour
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Department: Public Works

Role and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate various types of municipal equipment.
  • Perform winter road maintenance tasks such as plowing, sanding and salting when needed.
  • Load and unload trucks using appropriate mechanisms to safely perform tasks.
  • Perform routine maintenance and assist with seasonal preparation on relevant equipment as required.
  • Accurately maintain daily equipment usage records.
  • Maintain adequate cleanliness of equipment.
  • Safely perform general labour tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to all housekeeping procedures and report any suspected issues with equipment.
  • Understand, support, and adhere to all Municipal safety policies and procedures, as well as all Ministry of Transportation regulations.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
  • Valid Province of Ontario Class “DZ” driver’s licence with a proven acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to be trained to obtain Water / Wastewater Certifications.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience.
