About the Proposed Project

The proposal is to install a micro hydro-turbine at Pete’s Dam as a demonstration site for clean, reliable power generation. A modern hydro-turbine system would:

  • Generate clean energy with zero grease or oil and zero pollution.
  • Operate with low ecological impact and support carbon reduction goals.
  • Provide a practical example for off-diesel initiatives in remote and Indigenous communities.
  • Support potential economic development, including local manufacturing opportunities in the New Liskeard Industrial Park.

Benefits to the Community

  • Supports local clean energy generation and climate action.
  • Provides educational and interpretive opportunities at Pete’s Dam Park.
  • Encourages community pride and engagement around innovative green technology.
  • Creates potential for future jobs and low-cost, low-maintenance power solutions.
