Concrete Sidewalks & Curb Repairs

Objective

The City of Temiskaming Shores is desirous to procure a qualified Contractor for the provision of concrete sidewalk and curb repairs on site at various locations and subject to time frame and specifications listed within.

Scope of Work

The City of Temiskaming Shores has various locations which require the construction / repairs of concrete sidewalk and / or curb as a result of damage.

The Contractor is expected to supply all materials as per specifications, labour and equipment for the successful installation of concrete sidewalk and/ or curb at various locations within the City boundaries and conforming to specification OPSS 351 (Nov 2021). It is understood that the Contractor shall have sufficient knowledge and expertise in the concrete construction process and shall have the ability to administrate the project to successful completion within a desired time frame.

The work shall commence within one week of notification, weather permitting and only upon receipt of required documentation, and at the City’s discretion. The Contractor shall endeavor to complete each location within a reasonable time. The Contractor shall work continuously (weather permitting) until the work is completed.

The City’s work crews shall not perform any preparation work in reference to the construction and installation, and the Contractor assumes all responsibility for site preparation including compaction, forming, levelling, protection and finishing of concrete sidewalks which meet the specifications described within.

The Contractor assumes all responsibility for placing of granular material and compaction. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to provide finishing grade in order to guarantee an acceptable sidewalk meeting specification.

The Contractor shall match the existing sidewalk thickness ensuring a level, hazard free joint to existing sidewalk in each respective location. Measurement for payment shall be in square meters for sidewalk and metres for curb. Finished product shall conform to OPSS 351 & 353 (Nov. 2021) and shall constitute full payment for equipment, labour and material required to do the work.

The Successful Contractor hereby understands and agrees that as part of this agreement, The Contractors monthly invoices are to be submitted as of the last day of each month for the work completed in the previous 30 days. Payment shall fully and physically describe the exact date, location (street address) and exact final area measurements of the finished work for the purposes of re-conciliation by the City. For this convenience the attached summary sheet must be submitted with the Contractors invoice.

Bids must be submitted electronically, using the Electronic Bid Submissions Portal on the City’s website:

Submissions must be in pdf format and can be no larger than 50 MB.

Proponents will receive an automatic email response to indicate that the submission has been received, and to contact the Municipal Clerk for submission opening details. Contact the Clerk at 705-672-3363 ext. 4136 or at clerk@temiskamingshores.ca , should the Proponent not receive a confirmation email.

The City has no liability to the Proponent/ Bidder for any problems encountered, or failure of the Bidder to successfully submit a bid prior to the bid closing time and date. As such, allow sufficient time for a Bid Submission and attachment(s) (if applicable), to resolve any issues that may arise. Bidders are cautioned that the timing of their Bid Submission is based on when the Bid is received by the City.
