Snow Removal Operations — Overnight Start

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during the recent storm.

Start Time
Sunday, January 4 — 10:00 PM
Operations
Overnight snow removal
Work continues through the week and likely into next week.
Priorities
Priority routes will be addressed first, consistent with the approved Winter Operations Plan.

On behalf of the Public Works Winter Operations Crew, thank you to our residents and businesses for your patience throughout the recent storm, and for limiting non-essential travel where possible. Your cooperation helps our crew work more safely and efficiently.

Why snow removal is typically completed overnight

We typically avoid removal along busy City rights-of-way during the day for safety reasons. Heavy equipment, limited visibility, and higher traffic levels create significant risks to both the public and our operators. Overnight work reduces conflicts with vehicles and pedestrians, allowing crews to complete the work more effectively.

Snow removal is a multi-day process. Progress may vary depending on weather conditions, equipment availability, and operational priorities. We appreciate your continued patience as crews work through each area.

Reminders that help our team

  • Avoid parking on streets overnight.
  • Place garbage and recycling where they will not interfere with heavy equipment.
  • Do not build snow forts or habitats in roadside snowbanks.

We remain committed to maintaining roads that are safe and passable, consistent with our Winter Operations Plan. Thank you again for your cooperation, and Happy New Year!
