Snow Removal Operations Underway
Service Update: Snow removal operations will begin tonight, March 17, with priority work focused on the downtown core and school zones.
Over the past several days, the City of Temiskaming Shores has experienced a significant snowfall event. As a result, some roadways remain narrowed, and on-street parking continues to be challenging in certain areas.
Public Works and Recreation crews have been working around the clock to manage cleanup efforts while ensuring proper rest periods to maintain safe and effective operations.
Tonight’s Priority Snow Removal Areas
Start date: Tonight, March 17
Priority areas: Downtown core and school zones
Operational approach: Guided by the City’s Winter Operations Plan
Winter Operations Response
A Winter Operations Plan remains in place and continues to guide the City’s response to this storm event. As with any snowfall event of this magnitude, crews are making real-time adjustments based on current conditions and evolving priorities.
The City remains in a Declared Significant Weather Event in accordance with Ontario’s Minimum Maintenance Standards (MMS). Crews will continue working as conditions allow to restore roadway widths and improve travel conditions across the community.
