 Taxicab and TNC Fares

Fares
  • Maximum initial charge $4.00 including taxes.
  • Maximum additional charge $2.25 per km including GST.
  • Maximum waiting charge $75.00 per hour or $1.25 per minute as calculated by the taximeter.
  • Maximum special cartage charge of $0.25 per parcel to a maximum of three parcels. If number of parcels exceeds three, the charge is $2.00 per parcel.
  • Minimum pickup and delivery charge of $10.00 for items picked up and delivered by driver to customer.
  • No flat rate charges are allowed unless the trip extends to beyond 5 kilometers outside of the City boundary.
Prohibited
  • Taxi cab owners and drivers are prohibited from charging a higher fare or an additional fee for persons with disabilities than for persons without disabilities for the same trip.
  • Taxi cab owners and drivers are prohibited from charging a fee for the storage of mobility aids or mobility assistive devices (i.e. wheelchairs, canes or walkers).
