About the Role | Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the Information Technology Support Coordinator provides front-line hardware and software assistance to municipal staff, manages contractor and vendor relationships, and assists in assessing and implementing new systems. This position plays a critical role in supporting the City’s IT infrastructure and ensuring efficient and secure operation of all digital systems.
The successful candidate will provide first response technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and assist users across the corporation. Additional responsibilities include performing hardware setup and minor repairs, coordinating with vendors and contractors for data communications, developing user training materials, and managing departmental social media accounts and website content. The role also contributes to corporate IT planning and system evaluations.
Job Requirements | The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in Information Technology or a related field, with one to two (1–2) years of relevant experience in a technical support or IT administration role. Experience with Windows Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft Cloud Systems, and website development (including HTML) is essential. Strong problem-solving abilities, multitasking skills, and excellent communication are key to success in this position.
