The City of Temiskaming Shores is undertaking the development of a new Official Plan. An Official Plan describes the Cty's policies on how it will grow, what will be protected and how land in your community should be used and is prepared with input from your community to ensure it meets your specific needs.
An Official Plan deals with land use planning issues such as:
- Location of new housing, industry, offices and shops
- When, where, and in what order growth will occur
- Services needed to accommodate growth
It is the goal of this new Official Plan to create a plan that reflects the local context of the City of Temiskaming Shores, while considering the interests of residents and what they would like the policy to achieve over the next 25 years. The existing Official Plan was approved in 2015 and since that time there have been a number of legislative and policy changes to the Ontario Planning framework. New policies in the City's Official Plan are required to address these changes.

- Public and Community Engagement
- Drafting of the Official Plan
- Refinement and Finalization of Official Plan
